Privacy Policy

This policy explains what HotdogFX collects, why, and what we do with it. Replace the placeholders in square brackets with your legal entity details before launch, and have a lawyer review it if you operate in the EU or UK.

Who we are

What we collect

• Account data. When you sign up, your account is created and stored by Auth0, our identity provider. We read your email address, name and profile picture from your session to show them in the app. We never see or store your password.
• Usage data. Standard server logs from our hosting providers: IP address, browser user agent, and the pages you requested.
• Session cookies. One encrypted cookie that keeps you logged in. It is strictly necessary for the service and is not used for advertising.

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment details, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

Who processes your data

• Auth0 (Okta) — authentication and account storage.
• Supabase — database hosting for the news feed itself.
• Vercel — website hosting and request logs.
• Railway — hosting for the background service that fetches news.

How long we keep it

Account records are kept until you delete your account. Server logs are retained for the default period set by our hosting providers. News items are automatically deleted 30 days after publication.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account entirely by emailing [privacy@yourdomain.com]. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy materially we will update the date above and notify signed-in users on their next visit.
